Boys Boys Boys – Beauty Revisited celebrates the majesty of the male form through the re-interpretation of classical photographic nude studies of the human figure.

The large photogravure prints printed on delicate rice paper and small gilded platinum prints on vellum are a continuation of the Prix West series, a genealogy of classical photographic studies of the human male figure in the great outdoors. The models, all local Austin youths--Sam, Blake, Morgan, ages 19-21, perused my photo library of historical images, photography books and photo-biographies to select images they would like to use as inspiration for our shoots. Most recently, their selections have included works from Weston, White, Steiglitz, Newton, Frielander, Gibson and Man Ray, for example.

The images are primarily created in my small back yard studio with large-format film  cameras, and at times on location. On location sites include the sand dunes of the Texas Gulf Coast, a substitute for the sand dunes in California, an homage to Edward Weston's work with Charis Wilson at Oceano, California.
